The farewell ceremony, in honour of our beloved teacher, Mrs. Suneetha Perera, Bio Science Teacher, Sectional Head and finally the Sinhala Stream Head of Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy, bade farewell on the 24th of May 2017.
The days events began with the Holy Eucharistic Mass Celebrations offered at the Chapel by Very Rev. Fr. Milroy Fonseka, the Vicar General and Manager of Catholic Schools of Kandy Diocese and Rev. Fr. Ivan Jayasundara the Parish Priest of St. Anthony’s Cathedral, Kandy.
A felicitation ceremony was organized at St. Euphrasia’s Hall with the attendance of teachers, past pupils, and the management.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal Rev. Sr. Chandrika Perera said the school will surely miss her professional expertise and her cordial relationship with the management, staff and students.
Mrs. Suneetha Perera revealed the fact that, she was compelled to leave behind her previous job at the Coconut Research Institute, for the sake of her family, which also made her take up teaching instead, finally turned to be a blessing in her life.
“A teacher who had spent 25 years of her towards the benevolence of the school surely, a rare gem to be sorted out”.
It was a glamorous and heart touching occasion, where students presented their tributes and gratitude in various ways. Event was conclude with the vote of thanks.
