The Annual Christmas Carol Service for 2025 took place on December 7th, 2024, at St. Euphrasia’s Hall, where the spirit of Christmas was beautifully celebrated. This year’s service featured an inspiring play, written and directed by Mrs. Rita Jayatilleke, which vividly brought to life the true meaning of Christmas through the eyes of the donkey, camel, and sheep — pivotal characters in the Nativity story. The young Shepherdians' heartfelt performances captivated the audience, making the Christmas story resonate deeply.
The service was further enriched by the soul-stirring music of the Senior Choir, trained by Mr. Neson George, whose harmonious voices filled the hall with warmth. The Primary Choir also added to the festive atmosphere, their melodious singing enhancing the spiritual experience of the evening.
The highlight of the service was the meaningful message and blessing delivered by His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Dr. Valence Mendis, the Bishop of Kandy. His words inspired all in attendance, elevating the evening into a truly spiritual celebration.
The Christmas Carol Service was a memorable and enriching occasion, offering everyone a deeper reflection on the season’s true meaning.
